"Why did I create this course?"
IĀ honestly love labor. There is nothing more powerful thanĀ delivering a child.Ā
Let go, surrender to the process, and trust your body. Recognizing your own power is life-changing.Ā
Ā
You deserve that experience.Ā
Nearly a decade ago, I first discovered the joys and complexities of the maternal health community - and I've never looked back.Ā
Iām a mom, former Peace Corps volunteer, and a maternity nurse with a deep passion for improving maternal health. My journey has been a rich blend of personal and professional experiences, all connected by a desire to help others and make a lasting impact.
I completed my Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at New York University, and clinically, I am certified in RNC-OB (Inpatient Obstetric Nursing) and EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring), along with the successful completion of AWHONN's Fetal Heart Monitoring Program.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Emmanuel College, which I love because it has allowed me to view nursing and clinical care from a macro viewpoint.
In my work as a maternity nurse, I am honored to support mothers and families during one of the most important times in their lives. From labor and delivery to postpartum care, Iām dedicated to ensuring that every mother and baby receive the best possible care and support. Iām passionate about advocating for maternal health and helping families navigate their healthcare options.
And, I have also earned the title of Return Peace Corps Volunteer, in which I served as a Youth and Families Volunteer in Ecuador.Ā My time as a Peace Corps volunteer gave me a unique perspective on the challenges families face around the world, and it deepened my sense of empathy and service.
Outside of my work, I love spending time with my family, staying involved in community health initiatives, and continuing to learn more about global maternal health.
Whether at home or in the field, Iām committed to making a positive difference in the lives of others.
